The Seattle Family Group's donations will allow villagers at Antsanitia to grow, plant and guard to maturity a mixture of dry deciduous and mangrove trees. Over the course of the next five years the local forest and Antsanitia estuary will be restored.
A five year commitment will:
Restore habitat for endangered lemurs in the Antsanitia district
Employ 26 villagers seeking to care for their families and restore their local environment
Plant 250,000 trees per year for a total of 1,500,000 trees after 5 years
Sequester between 10,000 and 35,000 metric tons of carbon
Equip The Eden Projects to respond to critical operational needs
